Here at CBD Glass, particularly on this blog, we’ve long discussed how glass doesn’t have to be transparent. While some find the mysteriousness of translucent glass part of its appeal, other consumers want more options, namely color.

Not only do we offer translucent glass as a base, but we also sell an aqua blue base, which is tinted a subtle shade of teal. For some customers, that’s enough color. For others, they still want more.

We’re always striving to serve our customers at CBD Glass. That’s why we allow for customization of almost all our glass items, from accent pieces to countertops, backsplashes, frameless shower doors, sinks and vanities, and so much more.

One of our more unique services that we’re very proud of is backpainting. We can take almost any glass item—even if it’s laminated or tempered, and regardless of the shape or thickness—and backpaint it for you.

Allow us to explain.

What Is Backpainting?

Backpainting is a process where our trained CBD employees add a painted layer of glass coating over your product. We will paint only the back/bottom side of such product (hence the name) so the colors are visible by looking at the translucent front/top.

This creates a sophisticated effect that’s not too overwhelming. Many of our customers have asked that we backpaint their wall coverings, store fixtures, glass furniture, countertops, walls, and backsplashes.

In addition to colors, we also offer various textures that really let your glass surfaces pop.

Which Colors Are Available?

Tastes differ from customer to customer, which is why our staff here at CBD Glass will offer you almost any color in existence. Just a sampling of the colors (and textures) you can choose from are:

  • Rusty gold with black
  • Rusty gold textured
  • Rusty copper with black
  • Pure white or off-white
  • Silver metallic
  • Pure red
  • Medium gold beige metallic
  • Dark beige metallic
  • Jet blue metallic

Our metallic shades are shiny and almost glittery. If the sun hits just right, your glass surface will sparkle. Our rust colors are more appealing than they sound, often blending classic metal colors like copper, gold, and silver into a lovely masterpiece.

If you browse our website and you can’t find the exact color you need for your customized glass item, no problem. We also carry hues on the Benjamin Moore color chart; you just have to ask. These colors are available at the same cost as the others.

Why Would I Want It?

The better question is: why wouldn’t you want backpainted glass? We already offer so many ways to texturize and customize your glass items to your liking, and this is like the icing on the cake. You can have your glass items colored to blend in with the décor in the rest of your house or have them stand out.
